Advertising Research: On Gen Z

In this week I have been creating an advert specifically for Gen Z. In this post I am going to give details on advertising and market for Gen Z 

Gen-Z is well-known for holding deep convictions and high ethical standards, and gaining their trust is essential. If Gen-Zers pick up on the fact that a business has developed messaging, branding and creative specifically tailored to reach their demographic, the strategy may backfire.(Panel®, E. 2022) . According to this, they are very firm where 'Trust' is everything for them. While if they make up a mind to do something they will. This generation is most advance because ‘Young, tech savvy, and socially-minded, Gen Z is the most racially and ethnically diverse generation ever with a spending power of over $140 billion’.(Thomas, M. (2022)

In my own advert I will be marketing thorough social media like Instagram, TikTok and snapchat on which I am going to grab most of the Gen Z attention. Based on my personal research, the Gen Z are more into social platform to grab information than newspaper and magazine.


Relating to this static above it is proven that gen z on "TikTok counted around 37 million users who were born between 1997 and 2012, while Instagram reported around 33 million users in the same period. Snapchat, which counted 42 million Gen Z users, is projected to reach 49.5 million users in the examined demographic by 2025" (Dixon, S.J.2023). Such social media platform helps the gen z to get information on fashion trends, daily news and works more likely to get famous but sharing their art though these social platform.

The advert I created has a picture of a vampire who has a mask hiding his half face and his eyes is shining which is  highlight to one of the famous character in series name "The Vampire Diary" released in 2009 . Having an idea of this series, it has also made my work easier with the fonts and the theme which is mainly on vampire. According to my assumption there were many viewers of generation Z who watch the vampire diary.

The advert I have created will surely make my viewers interested and the theme is on the vampires which will make an effect on the marketing and views on my advertisement.
