Initial Research : GQ Magazine Autumn 2023.

 For my Shoe X project I will be designing designing futuristic boots. Therefore I am looking at the pair for boots which were on trend 2023. Hereby, the image below of the black nylon Prada boots gives us more details that the designer has has played with outsole by adding more height for this specific boots with an angle to comfort the foot and added an new concept of pockets/ storage space in boots where the pocket is added with a zip on the quarter of the boots with the help of black belt running through the backstay on each pairs. According to vogue on the outsole used in this boots, "What Smart loves about the boots is their ability to take summer staples and transform them into pillars of the winner wardrobe too. "I love how they were styled with evening dresses in the show, they're such a brilliant alternative to heels. There is nothing better on the market to be grounding all my summer dresses with, which I can now get maximum wear from all year round." (Pike, N.2019) 

Prada Monolith Nylon Boots

 

Talking on the sustainability of the above boots its something many celebrates are spotted with this because the use of Nylon in boots is such a design is where new techniques links up to wide range. On the other hand, Nylon does not harm the planet and it has the same benefits like recycled polyesters it can be made from fishing nets and plastics wastes which reduce the percentages of global warming. Here is what the Prada gave a view on the sustainability of the boots material, "Re-Nylon is the next step in fabric technology and sustainable luxury - a textile that can be endlessly regenerated without loss of quality, true cyclical luxury.  Through a process of de-molymerization, purification and then transformation into new polymers and then threads, this material can be recuperated and made into new nylon fabric". Prada Re-nylon (2020)

The above video is from an influencer named Cathy Mekondo who gave her best 1 year review for this nylon and  leather hybrid boots from Prada, giving a genuine brief from every positive and negative aspects of these pairs, she perfectly spoke about the trend and the comfort. 

In My own work I will do more brief research on combat boots like these Prada Monolith hybrid boots and others reflecting with the trend and idea deeply with the anatomy of foot and boot techniques to best describe my own designs and ideas on footwear for my major project.
