Sequence Photography’s For Class Practice
Over here I am going to show about my firsts project during my term 1.
As we were being taught about Sequential Photography, we got to know prominent personalities like: ELLIOTT ERWITT, EADWEARD MUYBRIDGE AND WILL EISNER.
Subsequently, for my first autumn term project I created a sequential image.
💣Just for knowledge:
Sir ELLIOTT ERWIT, was best known for his sincere expression and humor that shines through his black and white picture.
Sir EADWEARD MUYBRIDGE, was best known for his photographic studies of motion of human and animals.
Sir WILL EISNER, was one of the earliest cartoonists to work in the American comic book industry.
Comics and Sequential Art by Will Eisner
The above depicting was done by Will Eisner in his famous book named COMICS AND SEQUENTIAL ART, originally published in 1985. Furthermore, the comics artist describes sequential art as, “ it forms that use of images deployed in a particular way for graphic storytelling or communicate information”.
Reading more into his book, I got to know Will Eisner use to show sequential images into fictional comics cartoon drawn in Black and White, where the characters used to masked criminal suspects and hero’s drawing attention, teaching us more about sequential art.

My First Practice :-
During my first week lectures, I tried creating my own sequential image at DMU campus using my IPhone 12 PRO MAX- IOS phone and set all my original picture captured in a set of contact sheet using an online contact sheet generator, subjected as ‘STUDENTS PLAYING FOOTBALL’
💣 Just For Knowledge:
The students playing in the field are unknown and the pictures were clicked by me in a very natural form, this picture were taken in DMU campus only.
These edit and contacted sheet were made on desktop present in campus for better experience
Contacted sheet with image is shown bellow:
My Second Practice :-
Continuing, my practice to edit my photographs online on Pixlr - ‘Pixlr E editor’.
Steps focused on practicing the sequence image:-
1. Entered Pixlr-E Editor, selected canvas size to A4- 210mm X 297mm, with background canvas with color white.
2. Clicked Files tab and uploaded my image sequence on the main canvas.
3. For adding other image on main canvas, I clicked again on file tab > Open image> Select the image> Pre-resize Image to Full HD which was 1920 px > Using Edit tab CUT/COPY the image> Coming back on main canvas I clicked again to Edit tab and pasted the sequential image.
4. Then with the help of Transform tool, I minimized the size of the picture and aligned them together to form sequence.
💣 Just For Knowledge :-
I repeated Step 3 & 4, for adding more images and aligned them in a sequence format
5. I used the Text Tool to write my name and the title> then, changed the text font to Georgia with the font size of 60pts.
6. I used Cropping tool to hide the extra space and present it into rectangular form (sequencing format).
7. Lastly, I clicked on Files tab and exported the final practice work in the desktop as png.
Final sequence photography is shown below :
As this was my First Practice, I think it turned out to be look good with the natural picture captured during the moment of students enjoying in the campus. I had clicked more realistic picture in a sequence, So that when I practice again i would spend more time working to create the blog with helpful resources/ research.
