Further Research : Tinker Hitfeld - Nike
Tinker Hitfield an American Designer who’s work is famous for street and athletic wear trainers known as Nike Jordan and various designs in Air Jordan series for which he is currently Nikes Vice President for Design and Special Project due to his unique design made me interested which is why I was looking out for his work in relation to my own project Shoe X, Hitfield always brought Air models to elevated heights, pushing the boundaries of technology and contemporary sneaker design and Nike’s Jordan series with his initial design and inspiration towards Michael Jordan (All you need to know about the sneaker designer,n.d). Hitfeld is also known as the man behind the Jumpman which is All Air Jordan worn during the basketball match of 1988 was designed by him.“Hatfield's designs have become much more than athletic shoes, but shoes that tell stories, embrace culture and facilitate the dreams of the youth. His designs are quintessential street wear, worn and recognised by the multitudes. Today Air Jordan's and Nike's SB designs are some of the most prevalent shoes on the street, as a result of Hatfield pioneering the skate genre at Nike and enhancing the basketball world”(Biography,n.d). The innovation of ideas and designs by tinker esteemed such a popularity that the 19’s design of Jordan is till in hype in its target market attracting more and more users to wear for daily life style and work like gymnasium and out door activity where its worn by celebrities and athletes attracting every person related to sports and influencers trend. Even in my university I have seen students wearing various designs of Nike Jordans where they are inspired by some athletic or some public influencers, moreover, the reason for this on-going trend is the design and the comfort which is offered making it foot friendly for daily wear which make the target market buy more and keep collections of it.
Bellow, here is a picture of Nike air Jordan 6 x Travis Scott a tie-up between the Houston based rapper, Travis Scott and Jordan Brand released in October 2019, the shoe is having Cactus Jack initial logo on the heel and in shoe there is a small pocket which makes it look more unique with the glow in the dark translucent outsole. This shoe was made with sustainable and eco friendly material like top grain leather like nubuck and suede making it such light and durable. Although things which pop up in mind is why? the shoe has cushioning systems, responsive midsoles, and adaptive traction patterns which gives a good and comfortable stand. As this was collaboration people might have think why this shoe has only one color while the Air Jordan 6 had many? Stating this fact Air Jordan 6 x Travis Scott were released in two color which was olive green and British khaki which was made up of make material with add on of canvas. Thinking about why this shoe has a pocket? for which I got to know its called the stash pocket making the shoe different from the basic Air Jordan 6.
Moving on to one of the remarkable pairs by Hitfelds also known as Nike Air Mag. These shoes were first featured in the movie Back to the Future II, 1989. These shoes were later released in 2011 with an announcement of only 1500 pairs were auctioned on e - commerce. The sales for these shoes were so unpredictable that within 10 days auction raised over 5.6 Million Dollar making it a remarkable pairs of Nike. These late pairs were normal without technically design and idea in shoe. Later in 2016, Hitfeld improved the design where the technology of self lacing code and power shoelace were introduced in footwear. Over here the Nike released only 89 pairs making it limited edition and kept one reserved for M.Jordan. Due to the obsession and collaboration of footwear and technology into this pair made it difficult to find in store and expensive. Although question pops up into everyone’s mind why did they used such technology in these shoes? The technology of Self lacing is also known as HyperAdapt,“The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is the first fully-functioning athletic shoe that electronically adjusts to the contours of your foot via adaptive lacing technology, providing a personal, customized fit” Jessen, M. (2023).

You have written well here about the shoes - I think you could have had more and stronger research and referencing though particularly on the target market. You also could do with a conclusion relating it back to your own designs
