 Website Evaluation

------------------------

Planning stage:

What were your initial ideas for creating a website? style / name / template

- I wanted to create a website that represent my footwear design work. Thus, I started creating a website which has a homepage directing towards my work with my name and my subject area Footwear design and so I choose a template style which looks more creative, best highlights my work  and the font and the dark theme actual works well.

Do you have a tagline on your website?

- No, I have no marketing as such so have not concluded this.

Research:

Which designers / artists (relevant to your continuation route) websites did you look for inspiration?

- The designer website which I have looked at are Chiristain Louboutin and Naked Wolf . I looked at these both website because they both are famous footwear designers, which is why  to make my design present in a very precis manner and to make a good impact towards the viewers which also highlights my footwear.

How many pages did you want to make on your website and why?  Did that change as you progressed onto the research / designing stage?

- I have made 5 pages in which one is the subpage I have being working on linked to portfolio page, nevertheless I will be adding one more subpage which will be linked to portfolio page to flash towards my previous work done in the past which hopefully shows the viewers interested in footwear as a progressive performance work.

Content:

What is the purpose of your website?

- I created my website to illustrate and keep my major project designs safe.

Who are your potential website users?

- The potential website viewers will me people interested in footwear and Generation Z who are looking for new innovation designs.

Why do you think it is important to have a digital portfolio website?

-It is important to have digital portfolio so that in our evolving period of technology when internet takes control over the world, my work will be safe and secure. Accordingly I feel it is a good practice to make digital portfolio a great impression towards the viewers and making it easy and accessibly  from different parts of the work.

Design:

Which design elements / tools did you use? (e.g.: infographics, fixed header, static background image, navigation menu design, text boxes, image galleries, social media feed) and why?

-In my website I used a fixed header and footer on Wix. I did this so that the header and footer should be present on each page.  On my home page I have used a footwear picture in background which .  I could change this to a slider later but to begin with I will keep the homepage simple.  The navigation menu I changed to the font Spinnakar which is different to my headers but is making a good effect.  In the footer I added social media icons - these were Instagram and  Blogger. were added. I also added the copyright ensuring I used the correct copyright symbol that also appears on each page.  I then added using the add button , button and links to move between pages, blank pages that I then could add galleries. I added a contact form that links to my email so that users can easily contact me and additional static image to design the site and will work more on it later.

Navigation:

Does your website have working social media icon links?

- Yes as stated above

Are your pages connected / interlinked?

- Yes the page and subpage are interlinked properly, To ensure this I have added a button to move towards subpage and a button in subpage to go back to the portfolio page so the viewer's do not get stuck at the subpage.

Is it easy to navigate?

Yes it is very easy to navigate but I will also UX test this in week nine to get user response.

Does the “Contact” page / email link work?

Yes I have tested this and this works well
