Reflection
In launching on the journey of Art Portfolio module for footwear designing from dmuic in January, I begin working on the icebreaker challenge and a collaborative thinking. The theme “First Thoughts” paved the way for diverse ideas, setting the stage for Crazy Eight, an exciting session of initial idea generation on slides.
As the process unfolded, the Object Lesson guided the development of concepts, with a focus on sliders. Initial research developed into uncommon materials, revealing the dynamic trio of Tyre, carbon fiber, and Eva foam. Drawing inspiration from the Yeezy Foam Runner, the exploration expanded into the intriguing realm of Charles Demuth’s “Incense of a New Church”. Tackling into the virtual landscape, the Creative Design at the Virtual Shoe Museum and a roundabout route into colour theory enriched the palette of possibilities. The Further research zoomed in on sustainability in material choices, elevating the project’s environmental consciousness.
The experimental phase unfolded with two insightful posts, each capturing the essence of progress and refinement. Transitioning from 2D sketches to the intricate 3D project process showcased the evolution of ideas into tangible form. The design board, a culmination of artistic prowess, marked a pivotal milestone in the art portfolio. The journey continued with the development of a 3D prototype, an embodiment of creativity and functionality. The website update on Wixsite provided a digital narrative, seamlessly weaving together the story of ideation, research, and execution.
In conclusion, this reflects the transformative learning and experiential growth achieved through the intricate steps of the footwear design process. From ice breakers to website updates, each phase contributed to a belief understanding of design, material exploration, and the combination of creativity into a tangible masterpiece. Similarly, this term was also focused on time management. Although I didn't manage my time well, I managed to do everything on time, and I gained a lot of knowledge and skills that would be useful for my time in college. I'm pleased with the things I've learned and accomplished this term, and I aim to get better the next one. All in all, this module will assist me in getting ready for university. This module has improved my abilities and made me a better person. I'll utilize the abilities I demonstrated in this session once again to handle all of the assignments when I get to college.
