3D Prototype - Process 01
In this blog I will be beginning with my work of 3D prototype for a women wedge heel from my 2D design collection for Belle Cherie.
The 2D design which I am referencing over here is the design bellow which I will be turning into 3D model:
Women’s Wedge Heels
——————————
Beginning with my wedge heel I first started with masking the paper tape on my 3d printed heel on which I will be further adding layouts to cut and then cut leather in the required size.
The reason why I used masking tape on my 3D wedge heel is because I did not had a last for my design specifically for which I begin my work with masking tape over the 3d wedge heel on which next I used black marker and divide it into layers as this was not my first attempt. Before masking tape on wedge I tried wrapping the heels with leather so that I get an continuous texture throughout the body of the wedge but it was not successful from which further experimenting it I tried using masking tape and then marked it with marker and dividing the leather into 6 pieces for each edge and flattened/ curve surface reflective.

Next with the help of a paper cutter, I gently cut out the layers and peeled it smoothly.

Here is how cut out the leather from the template I made I had made.

Here are the 3 pieces of leather which I am going to stitch for wedge heel. Overall the back is divided into 3 pieces of leather and front is divided into 3 pieces.

Here is how it looks when I completed stitching the left side to the back side leather. In the above picture I have tried showing the stitching technique which I did. This technique worked out well as I had experimented before, so over here same I went with the zig zag stitching technique but I did double stitching and reduced the spacing.

Here is how I stitched the final piece. As the back/ middle leather was a bit curve I had to stitch without the support platform which worked out well.

Overall here above is the video of the final back tan leather after being stitched and sticked roughly to the wedge heel to get satisfied with the measurements and if it fill in the gaps of the template. In contrast, there were gap which were extra and I will be trimming it once I head on with the sticking process.
